Being in the city offers so many wonderful opportunities for students studying French, Italian or Chinese to practice their language at one of the many establishments here in the CBD. So when it was time to celebrate Language Week, students were spoilt for choice. Students of French and Italian enjoyed visiting Cafes for delicious pastries, pizza and gelato, while students of Chinese enjoyed a cultural experience in China Town with Dim Sum, a visit to the Chang Wah Association, and a supermarket. A micro-Opera performance by Pia Harris, an Italian/Australian opera singer, was also a very special occasion at Government House for students of Italian, as was the Tiramisu they had made in class! Back at school all students had the opportunity to learn how to make Olive Oil and Bubble Tea and enjoy a taste test. They also learnt how to do Fan Dancing and play Tombola, an Italian lottery style board game. Way too much fun!
