On 18 September seven Year 8-9 IT Angels accompanied by, Niamh Wilson (one of our head IT Angel’s), Miss Primerano and Mrs Kagi joined students from a number of schools including Trinity College, Ursula Frayne Catholic College, Kent Street, Kinross College and others to attend Project ROCKIT, the national movement against (cyber) bullying.
Project ROCKIT was founded in Melbourne and teamed up with Facebook and Instagram to help promote positive digital behaviour online. Dani and Ethan, our hosts for the day, explained that their goal was to talk to 400 different schools all over Australia to teach students how to become Digital Ambassadors for their school.
Digital Ambassadors are people who choose kindness and empathy whenever they can, people who aren’t afraid to go against the grain and use their power online for good. We were taught many new skills on how to manage online negativity, which we hope to spread around our school. The team from Project ROCKIT was inspirational to all of us and we hope to help them achieve their national goal.
