With the support of staff and the P&F a group of students headed to the Claremont Showgrounds on 4 May to participate in the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life. The event, which pays tribute to those whose lives have been affected and lost by cancer, raises money to help fund the research, prevention, education and support services for the Council.
The College community have been a regular participant at this event for many years challenging themselves by walking a baton around the track for 24 hours to raise money for the Council. During the event, the team participated in a moving Candlelight Ceremony where candles were placed in tribute along the track for those who have lost or survived their battle with cancer. Witnessing the effects cancer has on the wider community inspired the girls as they continued on their relaying efforts.
The girls demonstrated resilience and commitment over the weekend and should very proud of their efforts to raise more than $4,000.
