In July the Mercedes Select Choir travelled to Europe to participate in the Summa Cum Laude Music Festival. Thirty eight students along with 40 students from Trinity College and staff visited the beautiful sights of Salzburg, Vienna, Prague and Budapest. They learnt about the history and culture of the cities and students gained a greater understanding of music through exploring Vienna the city of music, and Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart.
The Choir performed exceptionally well in the Festival placing second internationally in the treble choir section, and first in Australia for both the treble choir section and all choir sections in the competitions with the top result of Outstanding.
Students also attended multiple workshops facilitated by world-renowned conductors who were very impressed with the choir’s musicality and passion for learning. The College is very proud of their efforts and achievement.
