Being in the heart of the City has many advantages for students at Mercedes College. One of these was being able to enjoy the extraordinary launch of the 2015 Arts Festival last week with The Giants walk through the City. Students studying Social Science lined Hay and Hill Streets with hundreds of other people eager to to get up close to the Little Girl Giant as she made her way alongside the College. Teachers had provided background information to the students on the story of The Giants and were encouraged to participate in the wider community promotions. It was an epic event for the City and a privilege for College students to be involved. Through their learning and co-curricular activities students also have many opportunities to visit organisations including Parliament, Law Courts, Arts and cultural venues, and business and service organisations.
