A group of Year 11 students celebrated Anti-Poverty Week this week by preparing, cooking and handing out food at the Big Issue Street Soccer game. The Street Soccer program runs each Tuesday afternoon promoting social inclusion and personal change by participants by providing support, commitment and team spirit through the power of sport. Students assisted with the setting up of the soccer fields at Wellington Square, as well as preparing dinner for after the event. The College has a long history of supporting a number of social justice programs in and around the city, with Service a key involvement for staff and students. Their next big event will be hosting a Christmas lunch at the College for the Big Issue Soccer participants.
