The Mercedes College Music Department has received three music Shield awards in the recent Catholic Performing Arts Festival (CPAF): Select Choir – The Benedictine Community of New Norcia Award for Sacred Choral Music; Rock Band – Nights of the Southern Cross Award for Contemporary Band; and Jayda D’Agostino – for the Sisters of St John of God Award for Secondary Vocal Solo. A wonderful achievement for the Music Department and their music students, particularly members of the Rock Band as this was their first CPAF Award. The Select Choir have been invited to perform at the Awards Ceremony on Monday 23 September.
