Fourteen Year 9 ACE (Academic Challenge & Extension) and Mathematics students relished their day out at the Hale STEM Challenge on Thursday 25 March. The students worked in mixed-school groupings to create a 3-tiered environmental viewing platform that could withstand strong wind gusts. They had to do this with limited materials including cardboard, wood, sticky tape, string, and time! But the smiles on their faces showed they were undeterred and did very well with their challenge with two students in their groupings placing 1st and 2nd. Out of 30 groups, that was a great effort!
