Students celebrated Math Week which saw students compete in a number of Math related activities over the course of the week.
Pi recital competition (Monday 15 March)
Congratulations to the 35 students who participated in the pi recital competition, everyone received points for their House and at least one Freddo. There were some very serious competitors, including students getting in the 90s or 100s, however we only have our top 3 prize winners who received movie ticket vouchers. Congratulations to:
- 3rd place, Olivia Sharpe (11.6) with 180 decimal places of pi
- 2nd place, Kassandra Avedikian (7.6) with 208 decimal places of pi
- 1st place, smashing the old record by 31 decimal places, Audrey Pike (11.3) with an astounding 407 decimal places of pi
Paper plane competition (Tuesday 16 March)
Well done to all participants in the paper plane competition, particularly the people whose plane actually traveled forwards! Special commendation to our top 3 aeronautical engineers, whose planes travelled the furthest. Each won a movie ticket voucher:
- 3rd place was Tani Partington 8.2
- 2nd place was Grace Haddleton 9.6
- 1st place was Selemana Amato 9.2
Times Tables Competition (Tuesday 16 March)
The Year 7 Times Tables competition grand final with 100 questions up to the 15 times table in 2 minutes saw the top 3 from each maths class competing. Congratulations to all, but in particular our top 3 winners:
- 3rd place Olivia Papatanas (7.1) with 65/100
- 2nd place Mia Stefanelli (7.3) with 89/100
- 1st place Stella Spagnolo (7.6) with 90/100
Finska Competition (Wednesday 17 March)
Congratulations to all students who participated in Finksa, in particular the 2 winners, Mikayla Bowden-Jones (7.4) and Ella Pantany (7.4).

Maths Kahoot (Thursday 18 March)
Congratulations to all students, but special mentions go to our top 3, who won a movie ticket voucher and additional House points: 1st place, Matilda Gardiner (10.2), 2nd place, a combined Rachel Webb (9.5) & Bella Postma (9.7), and 3rd place, Stephanie Hackwill (9.2).
Pie Baking Competition (Friday 19 March)
Well done to the 15 students who entered their favourite creation into the competition. The staff and student judges were treated to a sumptuous array of delicious savoury and sweet treats. All participants received a special chocolate treat and House points> Special mentions go to our top 3 place:
- In 3rd place (peach and raspberry tart 21 votes) – Mia Stefanelli (7.3)
- In 2nd place (banoffee pie 38 votes) – Chloe Watters (7.3)
- In 1st place (creamy French chicken pie 56 votes) – Annabel Finch (7.5)
