The Excellence Assembly today celebrated the graduating students who excelled in their studies. We acknowledged students who achieved ATARs above 95, recipients of SCSA Awards (Grace Starcevich for Subject Exhibition in Design, Ruvimbo Tambiri Subject Excellence in English and Rachel Chaney Subject Excellence in Physical Education Studies). We also congratulated recipients of Certificates of Distinction and Merit, awarded by SCSA. Grace, our 2019 Dux, gave a most inspiring speech focussing on ‘the race you have to run’ to get to the end of studies and to embrace all opportunities and challenges. Also acknowledged were the Year 11 Academic Honours students and Mikaela Zuiderduyn for achieving the Mercy Education Scholarship for 2019. Our guest speaker, Alumni Kelly Smith (Class of 1993) spoke of the importance of ‘backing yourself’ and doing your research to ensure you are offering what you can to your vocation.
