The inaugural Mercedes College rowing season had an exciting finale on Saturday 19 June when the All Schools’ State Championships were held at Champion Lakes. Congratulations to all our crews in their first-ever rowing competition. In particular our Senior Girls 1 of the School Girls’ Open Coxed Quad who took out 3rd Place! Also to the Senior Girls 2 who narrowly missed out on being in the same final after a challenging heat. All crews performed strongly in what were perfect conditions on the day.
Given this was the schools first season, and the girls were up against more established rowing programs, the future looks bright for this new club.
Special thanks to West Australian Rowing Club who hosted the girls this season and for the valuable coaching of Head Coach Joe Tamigi and Jack O’Dea, Andy Le, Bailey Flecker and Duke Gordon.
