At the beginning of 2025, the familiar College Library was transformed into a contemporary Learning Hub, a space designed to inspire growth, collaboration, and innovation. This transformation created an environment that not only supports focused study but also encourages curiosity, creativity, and shared learning across the College.
Since its opening, students have embraced the Hub as a central place for learning. Whether working together on projects, finding a quiet corner for independent study, or accessing ICT support and device charging stations, the space has quickly become an integral part of daily College life. Its flexible design has allowed students to move seamlessly between collaboration and concentration, giving them the tools and environment they need to flourish.
The Hub has also been a cornerstone of our Professional Growth Framework this year, offering staff a knowledge-rich setting for coaching conversations, self-paced online learning, bite-sized professional development forums, and a professional reading library. In this way, it serves the whole Mercedes community, students and staff alike, as a hub for excellence, reflection, and development.
The transformation of the College Library into the Learning Hub is more than just a change of space, it represents a commitment to lifelong learning and to creating an environment where both students and staff can continue to learn, grow, and thrive together.
