Enrolment applications are open year-round and can be completed online, via the steps below.

Please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions section for more information regarding College enrolments.

Enrolment Process

We highly recommend visiting the Mercedes College campus for a College Tour. Join us to explore our facilities, experience our vibrant community and exceptional learning environment, and see how your daughter could thrive as part of our College.

Register your family through our Book a Tour link and take the first step toward joining our community.

An application for enrolment is an expression of interest in Mercedes College and not a formal commitment. The online application form is easy to complete and ensures your daughter will be placed on a register for enrolment in the class and calendar year of entry. Completion of the application form does not guarantee your daughter a place.

The non-refundable enrolment application fee of AUD $110 per student can be paid by visa or mastercard. The College requires a copy of your daughter’s birth certificate, baptism certificate and, if applicable, latest two school reports, Naplan results, and other relevant documentation. The College will send an acknowledgement of your application.

An Enrolment Application Form is available here.

Mercedes College is a highly sought-after school, and we encourage families to submit their enrolment applications as early as possible to ensure ample opportunity for consideration. Applications are open to families of all faiths who align with our Mercy values of compassion, excellence, justice, integrity, service, and hope.

The College begins the interview process three years prior to the intended year of entry. Due to high demand, interviews are prioritised based on the following criteria and application receival:

  • Families with siblings currently attending or who have previously attended the College
  • Daughters and Granddaughters of Alumni
  • Catholic students
  • Families who share our Mercy values

Your daughter is required to attend the interview with at least one parent or guardian.

Submitting your application early increases the likelihood of securing an interview and placement, as availability is limited. We look forward to partnering with you on your daughter’s educational journey.

If offered a place following your daughter’s interview, a non-refundable enrolment acceptance fee of $1,000, per student, is payable within 4 weeks of acceptance of an offer of a place at the College and will be credited to your first account.

The payment of this fee completes the enrolment interview process and secures a place for your daughter’s year of entry.

A year prior to entry the College will email further information to our incoming Year 7 families. This will include Year 6 Student Orientation Day – held in mid-November.

Stay updated with all the exciting news and events happening at the College by following us on Facebook and Instagram. These platforms are your window into our bustling school life and essential information hub.

Interviews for Year 7 in 2029 will commence in 2026.

We encourage early applications – the sooner, the better!

Early applications have several benefits: you will be kept informed about the College community and events, and depending on the selection criteria and availability, you will be contacted earlier in the interview process.

As we have several families on our waitlist, applying early also reduces the possibility of missing out on securing your daughter’s place.

Applications can be lodged online at any time, with enrolment interviews for Year 7 intake commencing 3 years prior.

For Year 7 intake within the next 2 years or Years 8-12 applicants, interviews will be conducted based on availability.

The enrolment interview is a friendly conversation between your daughter, at least one parent/guardian, and the College Principal or a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The interview should take approximately thirty minutes.

It is completely normal to be a bit nervous before the interview – it may even be your daughter’s first ever interview experience!

In preparation for the interview, you will be sent an Interview Information Form, which includes a page for your daughter to handwrite a Student Letter outlining why she would like to attend Mercedes College.

In the letter, your daughter may like to include specific interests or hobbies, subjects most enjoyed at school, any talents (music, sport, drama), gifts (she may be a great friend, a good listener or simply have a great sense of humour) or any other information she would like to share.

To help your daughter prepare for her interview, you may like to ask her questions and practice talking about the topics listed above.

Mercedes College receives an overwhelming amount of interest in enrolments, with several families on the waitlist, particularly for near future Year 7 intake. If you are not offered an enrolment interview, you will be contacted once per term to either confirm that interviews are ongoing into the following term, or that you have been placed on the waitlist. Families on the waitlist will be contacted if a place becomes available.

There are several factors that can influence the enrolment process. As the interview and waiting lists may frequently change, we do not advise families of a specific position or ranking of enrolment applications.

Subject to availability, families are selected for enrolment interviews based on the following criteria:

  • Families with siblings currently attending the College, or previously attended
  • Daughters or Granddaughters of Alumni
  • Catholic students
  • Families aligned with our Mercy Values of – Compassion, Excellence, Justice, Integrity, Service, Hope

Should a position become available, the College will contact you directly to arrange a time for an enrolment interview.
