The Mercy Education Award offered annually to each Mercy school recognises students who demonstrate leadership in the Mercy tradition. Students selected by their schools are acknowledged for their significant contribution, qualities and for demonstrating the values of Compassion, Justice, Respect, Hospitality, Service and Courage.
As announced at Presentation Evening in December, our nominee for the 2021 Mercy Education Award is Sinead Harrigan, who is in Year 12 this year.

Sinead has been a dedicated and reliable member of the Student Representative Council, and has been a strong leader of all initiatives undertaken. In this role, she willingly contributed to discussions, always considering the needs of others in her suggestions. Her kind and compassionate nature allow her to work well in a team environment, yet she is more than capable of working independently and can be counted on in any situation. She exhibits a strong work ethic and commitment to her studies. She is well liked by her peers and is a loyal and compassionate friend.
Sinead is always willing to volunteer for all types of events, even at a minute’s notice. She wears the Mercedes uniform with pride and is a great ambassador for the College. She is generous, kind and giving and undertakes any task with a smile on her face. Sinead has worked hard to make a positive contribution to the College through the supportive and caring approach she applies to all she does and is a very worthy recipient of this award.
Congratulations to Sinead on this achievement!
