Last week saw the Mercedes community celebrate Random Acts of Kindness week; a week dedicated to making the world a little kinder, spreading a little light around and making kindness to one another a regular part of our lives.
Across the campus the girls engaged in different ways, with many different activities on display. Some classes exchanged warm fuzzies and compliments, some handed out chocolates in homeroom. The Year Seven girls did a standout job, leaving notes for all Year Twelve students, wishing them gifts of hope, courage, kindness and compassion in the coming year.

In addition to making the world a happier place, kindness makes it a healthier place too! Acts of kindness and altruism have been proven to minimise stress, reduce pain, increase happiness and even lower blood pressure.
Well done to all the girls who participated. With the theme of Random Acts of Kindness Day this year being #MakeKindnessTheNorm, we should all try to take any chance we can to spread kindness in our community. Read some of the Year Sevens’ lovely notes below.
