Mercedes College, Australia’s first purpose‑built school still located on its original site in Perth’s beautiful CBD heritage precinct, is seeking a dynamic and professional Teacher – Science to join our community for Semester 2, 2026.

Brief Overview of the Position:
The Teacher – Science plays a vital role in delivering engaging, high‑quality science education that inspires curiosity, critical thinking and a passion for learning across Years 7 to 12. As a valued member of the Science Learning Area, this position contributes to a collaborative, student‑centred learning environment that supports both academic excellence and holistic development.
This role involves planning and delivering effective teaching and learning programs aligned with the current Science curriculum, with a strong focus on practical learning, inquiry‑based experiences and the safe delivery of laboratory activities. The successful candidate will monitor student progress, utilise contemporary learning technologies, and maintain a child‑safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
The ideal applicant will have experience teaching upper school Science, either ATAR or General, and will be confident engaging students across a range of year levels, particularly those preparing for senior secondary pathways. The ability to teach Year 12 Psychology (General) will be highly regarded.
Beyond classroom teaching, the role contributes to the broader life of the College through co‑curricular involvement, collaboration with colleagues, and active participation in College events and initiatives. A commitment to professionalism, strong communication skills, and the capacity to build positive relationships with students, staff and families are essential.
