All staff and students headed out to WA Athletics Stadium in Mount Claremont last Friday 24 June for our much anticipated Interhouse Athletics Carnival. Being the first whole college event for the year, students and staff were eager to come together for a day of fun and competition. The glorious weather set the tone for what was a fantastic day. The HPE team implemented some changes to the structure of the carnival this year, with the goal of increasing student participation and building House spirit. The carnival opened with a new team event – House Chants. Well done to prefects and House Teacher Leaders for working on these and teaching them to your house. The enthusiasm, synchronicity and volume of the chants was outstanding! Congratulations to Mr Fleay and the Serisier team for winning the first ever chant competition.

The day continued with all students putting their best efforts into track and field events. The new format meant that all students could participate in 100m, 200m and Long Jump and they certainly took up this opportunity. We were so impressed to see a total of 110 Year 7s and 81 Year 12s participating in the 100m races this year, doing their best to earn house points.
