In the lead up to the Annual McGrath Day fundraiser our Prefects brushed up on their netball skills in preparation for the Mercedes vs Trinity netball match. Our Year 12 Prefects were also kept busy, selling handmade pink scrunchies for the event.
The aim of the fundraiser is to raise awareness for breast cancer and fund Breast Care nurses in communities right across Australia.
On Friday 6 August, pink outfits and scrunchies brightened up the College and excitement roared in the Coady Sports Centre during lunch time. Well done to both Mercedes and Trinity College Prefects for their participation and sportsmanship. The MC ladies were in front the entire match, however the Trinity boys managed to take the lead in the last couple of minutes, which was unfortunate, but made for great entertainment.
Well done to the entire MC community for contributing to the McGrath Foundation and raising money for breast cancer research. It is special when the community can come together in Mercy service and give back to the community.
