Mercedes College was one of 66 schools that competed in the annual Associated Catholic Colleges Cross Country on Thursday 27 May at Alderbury Reserve. The Under 13 and 14 girls ran a 3km course and the Under 15, 16 and Open girls a 4km course. They all ran very well completing the course in the required cut-off time, and the increased distance did not deter the older girls.
The team finished 15th in the overall aggregate, with the Under 16 girls finishing 9th and the Open 16 girls finishing in 15th place. The results of all competitors can be accessed on the ACC website, www.accsport.asn.au.
Students who made it into the top 100 runners for their age group included the following:
- Under 13: Macy Boisvert 47th
- Under 14: Emma Lancaster 5th
- Under 15: Imogen Eames 59th and Olivia Buttigieg 99th
- Under 16: Neve McAlister 16th, Hannah Doyle 32nd, Daisy Holder 78th and Isabelle Hampson 92nd
- Open: Amy Beissel 56th, Brooke Cumming 57th, Imogen Herrington 80th
Congratulations to Emma Lancaster who was selected in the 2021 All Stars team. To be selected in the All Stars team a competitor must finish in the top 5 for their age group. Congratulations to all the members of the 2021 Cross Country on an excellent result.
