With international travel at a standstill, all our Study Tours to China, France and Italy will unfortunately have to wait. Come fly with us is a new initiative of the Languages Learning Area enabling students to visit these countries without leaving the College.
Online tickets went on sale and were sold out within the hour. The departure date finally arrived and on Thursday, 6 May the boarding gates opened in the Conference Centre for students to experience a flight to our very first destination in Italy, the beautiful city of Venice. Venice celebrates its 1600th birthday this year and students were encouraged to hop on a gondola and take a ride through the canals of Venice embarking on a thrilling virtual journey to discover the splendours of this city. Central to our tour was the iconic San Marco’s Square and its amazing Basilica. We even travelled further across the lagoon to the beautiful islands of Murano and Burano. At the end of the journey students were treated to a bite size gelato and many students took the opportunity to take a selfie or two in Piazza San Marco.
