Louise Allen-Arbuckle Music Scholarship
The Louise Allen-Arbuckle Music Scholarship was established by ex-student Louise Allen-Arbuckle (dec.) in 2014 to nurture music students with exceptional musical talent. Louise was an accomplished violinist, having performed with a number of Western Australian orchestras, a dedicated music teacher, and producer of many WA concert series. The scholarship offers a full two-year music scholarship valued at $2,500 to a student who is passionate about music and demonstrates exceptional musical talent. The successful applicant will be expected to continue her musical studies at school and maintain a high level of achievement in her chosen area of music study. She will also be expected to be fully supportive of, and, contribute to the co-curricular life of the College.
Applications are due at the end of Term 3 each year, with auditions taking place in Term 4. Scholarships are offered at the discretion of the Director of Music and Principal.
Students with a genuine love for music who participate fully in the program will benefit most from the financial support of a scholarship. The desire or willingness to transfer to or pick up lessons on an instrument of need (such as oboe, horn, trombone or double bass) is also considered favourably.
Please direct any music scholarship-related enquiries to Miss Jaimee Dixon-Hotchkin, Music Administrator (jaimee.hotchkin@mercedes.wa.edu.au).
