The Mercedes College House Dance Festival is now in its ninth year, and has proved to be one of the most popular events in the Performing Arts calendar. Every year, well over a hundred girls audition for a place in their House’s dance cast and showcase the results of their weeks of hard work in 3 sold out performances. The final performance evening is adjudicated by a Dance-in-Education specialist who selects the winning House. We are always impressed by the calibre of both the dancing and the choreography- a job taken on by year 12 students as part of their Drama program! Although there is not a dance program at Mercedes, we have many very talented dancers, a number of whom end up as choreographers in year 12. Our sincere thanks go to Mrs Barber for her support for House Dance, and especially to the parents who are such patient sewers, supporters and tax-drivers for their dancing daughters. Congratulations to Serisier House-Winners for 2008.
