| For the past 3 years the year 12 Drama students have been fortunate enough to attend a week long workshop/tour to the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA), in Sydney. The objective of this tour is primarily the development of the student’s performance and production skills. The workshops are provided by tutors from NIDA, which is recognised as Australia’s premier training institution and has produced such actors as Mel Gibson, Cate Blanchett and Judy Davis. Of an evening the students attend a variety of live theatre performances, ranging from stand-up comedy to full scale musicals, this year’s being Guys and Dolls starring Marina Prior, Lisa McCune and Magda Szubanski! The Tour/Workshop is thoroughly enjoyed by all who attend and culminates in a fantastic display of the students’ talents and hard work. The girls’ behaviour is always impeccable and we are often complimented on the calibre of our Mercedes Ladies. We are looking forward to another successful tour in April 2009. |  |
