| The internet provides a wonderful opportunity for researching information related to various academic areas. However, it also provides a pathway to material, that as a parent, you may consider unsuitable for your daughter. |
Do you understand the following:- | • Social Networking (eg MySpace) | | • Instant Messaging (eg MSN Chat) | | • On line video streaming (eg YouTube) | | • Web Logs (ie Blogs) |
Chances are that your daughter does understand them and is using them daily. The College is offering practical workshops to demonstrate what teenagers are doing on the net. These hands-on sessions will allow you to explore these areas while giving you valuable strategies to protect your children from some of the dangers which may be present. |
