Letter from Principal PDF Print

This has certainly been a momentous week for me making the very difficult decision to leave Mercedes College at the end of this year to take up an appointment at Bunbury Catholic College. I will be especially sad to leave all the wonderful students, parents, staff members and Sisters of Mercy, but know that the College is in very good hands.

Posted on the College website is a letter from Mr Jeff Simper, Group Chief Executive Officer of MercyCare, the governing authority for the College. In this letter Mr Simper has stated that, while the recruitment process for a new Principal for the College is undertaken, Ms Theresa Gibson has been appointed as Principal of Mercedes College. I wish her well in this leadership role and hope that she will receive the same support from the College community that I have enjoyed.

While all this excitement has been occurring, life in the College goes on. Please keep in your prayers all the students who are sitting their final exams. The last of the TEE papers are to be completed, the Year 11 girls are halfway through their exam period and the Year 9 and 10 exams will soon be upon us. I hope all students are putting their best efforts into their revision and final assessments and are able to achieve their best in the exams.

God bless you all.

Denise O’Meara, Principal
